THIS makes me insane. No amount of nagging will cure this. For certain, I know what would cure it, at least temporarily - a $1 charge per item of clothing found in place other than a clothing hamper. Actually, that could be a moneymaker for me! $2 for the Sunday shirts peeled off and left behind in the truck immediately after church. $5 for the piles of socks left in the living room - since it's much more pleasant to watch TV with bare feet. The easier to scratch them, I guess. Another few dollars for the pile of socks and/or shirts left out on the front porch because it became TOO HOT to wear said items while biking/skating/mowing/whatever.
I wonder what would happen if I just went around throwing my unwanted clothing down in random, high traffic areas?
Camaraderie - that's what would happen.
And later ... therapy.

Frustrating!
ReplyDeleteI think that men are physically unable to put clothes in the laundry basket. So if you can't change them, join them..... maybe
ReplyDeleteA scene from my house. ;) Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteWe have a sock issue going on at our place amongst our boy population--as in, socks left in the kitchen, on the counter, on the couch, on the table.....aaahhhhhhhh!!!! I feel ya, Girl! ;o)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Oh no, you mean it doesn't get better? My 4 year old son strips down the minute we get home from wherever we were that required clothing.
ReplyDeleteNO irritates me more than when my husband leaves his dirty, nasty smelly socks on the living room floor!! Ugh! Gross!
ReplyDeleteGood luck & Happy Wednesday to you!
You are so not alone here. Ugh!
ReplyDeletesame in my house - drives me nuts
ReplyDeleteToo funny! And frustrating.
ReplyDeleteYet...in my house...it's me who does this sometimes and Hubby who runs around cleaning up after me. Although, I think he tries to get back at me by putting his shoes in the middle of the floor in the bathroom. Some days I am sure I will trip and fall and crack my head on the toilet.....laying there dead until he gets home from work.
Well, with that pleasant thought we shall now move on. . .
I feel your pain. Example: last night hubby walked out of the house, through the garage and out to the backyard to take a phone call. He comes back in a few minutes later the same way. He didn't even realize that he had stepped over two plastic items for recycling that were laying on the floor. It was too much trouble for him to pick them up and place them in the bin right next to him. His response to my sweet request to place them in the box, "You are the one who dropped them." Ugh...men! Take care and may the force be with you.

I know what you mean!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI see that with my kids too sometimes!
ReplyDeleteI saw on your profile you like Toby Mac...me too. Love his new song.
Your blog is just too cute! I love your signature "mom among men".
Well, I only have the one male to deal with, but I think he is passing this trait on to our daughter. Seriously! Then he walks AROUND the clothes, socks, etc, as they lay in the middle of the floor! I like the idea of charging him!
ReplyDeleteWhy oh why do men do this?? Young men, old men, thye all seem to do it. I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteSadly I have no ideas to send your way............just having a good scream inside the closet every now and then works for me!
No matter where I put the hamper, I find his clothes thrown on the floor right next to it. Drives me absolutely batty. LOL
ReplyDeletefunny you say this. I charge my kids $1 for everything they leave out when the walk in the door. Works like a charm!
ReplyDeleteI like it! I like it very much!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!
Ahahahahaha... such an old familiar tale! And if you did it too... wouldn't be noticed on a gallopin' goat!
ReplyDeleteOh I feel your pain! The other day I took the afternoon "off." When Ryder (my 3 year old) woke up from his nap he said "Mom this place is a mess!" and I replied "I took the afternoon off." And do you know what that little stinker said? "You can't do that!" LOL
ReplyDeleteSounds like you took a walk thru my house! We have piles of laundry in every room. Clean, dirty if you turn the corner you will find some. I have tried buying the kids really cool hampers, making it their one and only nightly chore, paying THEM money............nope, nothin, it doesnt work!!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel ya.
It is very frustrating! I gave up trying years ago to get my hubby and daughter to stop throwing their clothes around the house. I do like the idea of charging! It might stop the mess from continuing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my site and commenting!
LOL!!! My husband does the same thing! Shirts! Shirts are everywhere! *sigh* ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog yesterday!
Same thing here! Socks in front of the TV (why????) and piles of clothes on the landing instead of in the clothes basket. Same response from me too!
ReplyDeleteWhat would happen? Certainly YOU'D be picking it up lol! I feel your pain.
